Summer Classic Horse Show

Today was Day Four of the Summer Classic!

The highlight of the show was the $2,000 Orange Coast Music Derby. This hotly contested event had 13 entries, ranging from The Flintstones, a Cowboy, the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, Men in Black, an Angel, a Race Car, Witchy Woman, Man Eater and Snoopy and a tribute to Charles Schultz.

The winner was Bridget Samuels (AOL member Cash N Buddy) performing a routine to cowboy music along with her little sister Chelsea on a stick horse!

Rob Gage as Fred Flintstone was second.

More medal classes were held, along with the $1000 HCPEC Modified Jr-Am Jumper Classic, the $5,000 Orange Coast Jr-AO Jumper classic and a Pony Jumper classic.

The hunter rings continued with Junior, AO, Childrens, Adult and Ponies. Also held were Equitation classes for all levels and medals.

Tomorrow is the Grand Finale of the show. Featured classes are the $1500 Marshall & Sterling Childrens/AA Jumper classic, the $1500 Time Warner Low Jr AO classic, the $25,000 Waterfront Hilton Grand Prix and the $10,000 Mckenna Porsche High Jump. The winning rider from the high jump has a chance to try to break the California State High Jump record of 7'2" and win a 2000 Porsche Cabriolet and $25,000 in cash.

The horse show will be televised live on KOCE in Orange County and Fox Sports West from 1:00 to 3:00 pm PDT.
