Today was the first day of the Summer Classic Horse Show, held in Huntington Beach, CA. The weather was a perfect mid to high 70's with a wonderful ocean breeze keeping everyone comfortable.
The jumper rings featured the first classes in divisions of Modified, Modified Jr/Am, Junior A/O, Schooling, Training, Childrens, Adult and Pony Jumpers. The hunter rings started Day One with Regular Conformation, Green, Green Conformation, Regular Working, Low, Pre Green and Young Hunters.
All jumpers go on the grass fields in the Huntington Central Park, a picturesque setting with trees and beautiful white tents. The Hunters show in sand and rubber footing rings located on the Equestrian Center grounds.
Judging the hunters are R. Scott Fitton from Ithaca, NY and Betsy Hoppel from Wellington, FL.
Judging Jumpers are Bennett Kurtze from Los Angeles, CA and Jack Robson from Coronado, CA.
Raizy Goffman from Northridge, CA and Chuck Brooker from Perris, CA.
The schedule for tomorrow features Modified, Junior/Am Owner, Schooling, Training, Childrens, Adult and Pony jumpers. The hunter rings will feature Green, Regular, Low, Pregreen and Young horse classes.
The show continues through Sunday August 13th.
