A Hearty Welcome to Everyone! We're hopeful that you're planning on joining us at our upcoming meeting of the Virginia Association for Parks. This time the meeting will be held a the First Landing State Park, located down by Virginia Beach. Dates involved are inclusive from Thursday 7 March through Sunday 10 March 2002. We're hopeful that you'll be able to find one or two of these dates acceptable, and that you'll be able to join us in the planned activities. The directions are as follows: Take Interstate 64E to Exit 282 which becomes U.S. Route 13N. Travel 3 1/2 miles to Shore Drive which is U.S. Route 60E. Proceed 4 miles until you arrive at the Entrance of First Landing State Park. Mr. Roy Allan Dudley and Chuck Traub are our hosts this time. As you can see by the enclosed schedule of events, they have planned an action packed weekend. I believe every one attending will enjoy themselves. Come and find out what makes First Landing State Park, Virginia's most visited Park. First Landing State Park has several cabins available for this meeting. A two-day stay is preferable. These cabins are provided by the Department of Conservation and Recreation in an effort to assist us with convenient and comfortable sleeping accomodations. We extend our gratitude to Nancy Heltman and the First Landing State Park staff for making these arrangements possible. The cabins are on a first-come, first serve basis. If you have a preference with whom you wish to share a cabin, so indicate. Contact Nancy Heltman at 804-692-0324 or Email her at nheltman@dcr.state.va.us for reservations. Also indicate the specific nights and number in the party, as well as any special needs you may have. In the event that there are no rooms available, the following motels/hotels are located nearby and convenient to the Park: 1) Virginia Beach
Resort Hotel, 2800 Shore Drive, Phone: 757-481-7464 We're all looking forward to seeing you. Come and enjoy our Parks! Respectfully, Laud
Pitt
