Delicate Arch is Utah's State symbol. It is 4 stories tall and sits perched on the edge of a canyon with the snow capped La Sal Mountains in the background. The trail to Delicate Arch is 1 1/2 miles each way over slickrock. The trail rises 480" in this distance and is a 1 hour strenuous hike each way. There is some exposure to heights, particularly in the last 100' or so. The trail here is very narrow, with rock walls on one side and a steep drop to the canyon floor below on the other. Rounding the bend, this magnificent Arch in all its splender comes into view.
