The above conservation quote by Baba Dioum sums up exactly why
the Friends of the
Fredericksburg Area Battlefields (FoFAB) strives to provide
free educational programs; why we assist with the annual
Memorial Day Weekend Luminaria program; and why we seek to
sponsor intern projects for students. We believe the best way
to preserve our history is to teach the next generation why
these events and lands are so important to us and the
generations that follow us.
Our aim is not to glorify the war, but
rather assist current and future generations in reflecting on,
and appreciating these sites and what they stand for.
