WAITING ON KOLT

It was a pale white moon on the 19th of June
at the Stockdale rodeo,
We almost fell off the chutes laffen so hard
cuz Kolt was afraid to go.
He finally got ready after an hour or so,
and called fer the gate to be opened real slow.
The lil steer jumped out and looked around
and fell to it's knees with
a bellerin sound.
Well Kolt set up and kept a spurrin',
he said, "it felt like my whole world was a blurrin".
When the whistle blew, Kolt gotta scare,
cuz he was somehow hung up to this half-dead steer.
He cried like he was hurt, as usual, and limped away
The judge gave him his score, and he knew it wouldn't pay.
Over the loud speaker the announcer came alive,
he said "Kolt Miller score of 20, with an option of re-ride".
Well the judges looked at the announcer and said "Heck no,
cuz we aint got all night for this rodeo to go".
So Kolt walked back to the truck with a tear in his eye,
following him was his dad Gary Miller,
who was 100 or maybe 95.
Ol Gary shoulda died a long time back,
but now he's here teachin his son, the skills he did lack.
Well, the day ended with joy after all
Cuz neither Curtis, Steven nor I took a fall.
We all three got checks, and maybe a girl or two.
We all left the rodeo with something,
Only Kolt left with the blues.

WHAT THIS COWGIRL DREAMS

When I get home from a rodeo I usually go to sleep.
Unless I have done bad that night, well then sometimes I weep
But when my eyes close and I fall asleep I dream a dream a cowgirls dream,
I dream about a cowboy one that will love me not leave me.
I dream of riding horses on the farm with this cowboy,
I dream of dancing with this cowboy,
I dream of holding this cowboy,
I dream of finding this cowboy!
Thats what this cowgirl dreams!
