ONE MORE TIME
By:Brittany Dannenberg
MySweetAppaloosa

As we run up the ring
he glances back at me
I push his side to make him go
we race with angel wings

the buzzer rings out great an' strong
to signal us to go
we race together side by side
Hoping to win the show
his Legs reach out into the dirt
with his muscles bulging out

I yell to him for Support,
for courage,
and also for hope
he runs faster to the barrel
we turn to the left
he gives a mighty heave then sighs
as I throw my arms into the air
yellin' "YEE-HAW!"

his nostrils flaring open wide
his ears both pointed back
I nudged him as a signal of
"COME ON BOY! LET'S GO BACK!"
he races hard and strong
in the dust huffing an' puffing
with all his might

we race back and
the buzzer rings out one last time
then the crowd jumps up from the stands
yellin' "ONE MORE TIME!"

OUT OF THE GATE
By T.C. Caputo
(WARD22RULZ)

Some folks call him crazy or messed up in the head,
Others just will come right out and tell you he's as good as dead.
He sits upon that wild bronc,
Feels his fingers and grabs his rope ...
And he says his prayers and then he tips his hat.
Bursts out of the gate,
He remembers to sit back straight.
Bucking so hard he knows he can't hold on.
Just when he thought he was bucked he found the courage and found the luck.

He was out of the gate
Turn to the right.
He closed his eyes and held on tight.
Clenching his jaw, nodding his head
Kicking his legs and cheating his death.
Pride and acknowledgment, this was money well spent.
The gold buckle or cash is what kept him on its back,
Eight seconds after he was out of the gate.
He heard the buzzer from the back,
He loosened his rope and gave it some slack.
The bronc reared up he was as good as thrown.
He landed on the ground where he laid prone.
After a second he got to his feet.
Shook his head and ran from the beast.
He jumped on the rail and looked to the board.
Just in time to see his score.
88 points flashed and he had the win.
Everyone was clapping and cheering for him.
He got what he had worked for since the age of ten
But now he'd put it behind him and do it all again.
