Juli S. Thorson is a journalist and practicing horse enthusiast whose byline has appeared in a variety of horse magazines for the last 25 years. She's been editor-in-chief of Horse & Rider, Appaloosa Journal, and several regional horse publications, and now serves as contributing editor of Western Horseman magazine, and primary editor of the Ride With Bob Avila newsletter. 

Her first book, Win With Bob Avila: A Champion's Advice on How to Reach Your Goals With Horses, will be published this fall.

Juli also owns and operates an equine facility near Moscow, Idaho, where she offers boarding services and select yearling performance prospects for sale. She's shown Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, and Paints to a variety of titles, and is a former endurance rider with best-condition wins to her credit.
